Kill Bill Review Thread
I’ll try to post as many reviews of Kill Bill v1 here as possible. So far, nearly everything I’ve seen has been overwhelmingly positive. Here we go:
Harry Knowles (cream-your-pants positive)
AICN Readers (very positive, 1 exception)
TNMC (negative)
Jeffrey Wells rips Kill Bill – then actually sees the movie.
I’m under a review-embargo agreement, but have you ever read and heard so much negative stuff about a movie you’ve started to believe it’s your own negative stuff, and on top of this you’ve allowed your cynicism about the editing and selling of a film to affect your view of what this film may actually turn out to be? But then you finally see the film and you come out staggering and amazed and resolved never to let advance hype affect your expectations again? I’m not referring to anything specific, of course, but you know what I mean.
Thats quite a turn around.

Kill bill was grotesque. I am ashamed for not having followed my (almost always right) gut feeling that this movie was goint to be bad. Tarantino should have done the whole movie in animation just like one part of the movie was. That was the best part of the movie by the way. It is a sad day for me. I will not trust Tarantino again.

This movie was so bad that anyone who liked it must have been off their rocker!!!!!If this movie can get the great reviews and high box office attendance volume that it’s getting,it reconfirms my intuitions that the U.S.A is in serious trouble with the state of mental well being in it’s citizenry.

I thought this was the worst movie I have ever seen. The timing was bad, the dialogue was boring, the fight scenes were cliched and stupid. The violence was ridiculous and despite being obscene and embarrassing, really boring.
My friend felt the same way. We left right after Lucy Liu got her head cut off. BORING. And stupid.
What worries me is that the fanboys praising this movie will only encourage the studios to release more of this kind of drivel …

I just got back from the theater and I thought it was great! There was only one short boring part, in the sushi bar, the rest was awesome! I knew Tarantino wouldn’t let us down.

OK, this is the only film ive seen of QT’s (seen a lil of Pulp Fiction) but i hav to say this is one of the greatest movies i have even seen.
Cannot understand how people can bring negativity to this film other than they arent a fan of heavy violence, and if they arent – why are the hell are they watching the film?

I just saw Kill Bill and must say…I LOVE IT! I’m a huge fan of anime and martial arts movies and thought QT’s incorporation of everything was not only original but entertaining…for all those straight laced boring non-imaginative types with no creativity – stay at home and watch your predictable storylines..for others like me…who think outside the box and can enjoy a great movie like Kill Bill PLEASE GO SEE IT…it’s like a carnival of ameri-asian fantasy. All components are there for something to watch that’s fresh and keeps you thinking and talking about the movie long after it’s finished…i can’t wait for Volume II.

If you’re offended by loads of violence then don’t bother going its hardly been kept a secret after all. If you are wise enough to look past the blood and guts the film is outstanding and easily film of the year
