Kill Bill Volume 2 Delayed
The theatrical release date for Kill Bill Volume 2 has officially been pushed back to April 16th, 2004 in the US. It was originally scneduled for a February release. Rumor is, its worldwide opening may be at the Cannes Film Festival.
UPDATE: FoxNews has Quentin’s explanation of the delay:
Tarantino told me that we will not be seeing “Kill Bill: Vol. 2″ until April instead of the planned February release. “To make that date I would have had to come back from promoting ['Vol. 1'] and go right back into editing,” he said. “I had to take a break.”

I think this sucks two, you all just have to suck it up and wait. I think it will do better if people have a break from Volume 1.

Oh, God, please say it isn’t true! April?! What the hell is going to get me through Valentine’s Day now? Anyone know when the DVD comes out? I saw Vol. I 5 times at the theatre. Sigh. Where’s my sword?

Uh, duh. I see now that the Vol. 1 DVD comes out in April as well. In my panic for some sort of concelation, I neglected to actually read the rest of the information on the site. Damn. Tarantino way deserves his break but I feel like chopping someone’s limbs right off.

you guys are all getting a little to worked up about this, boo hoo, we have to wait another 2 months!! oh dear its gonna kill me im sure, its two months guys, and if it makes kill bill less rushed and a better movie its damn worth it. Tarantino knows a hell of a lot more about making movies than we do, so lets let him do his job and we will do ours, prasie it when it comes out cuase we all know its gonna rock,

The way it was portrayed to me was that Kill Bill was a finished product, and then Tarantino & Co. decided to split it into two parts… This is just bad planning, why would you release the second part of one movie after all of the hype surrounding it has died down? If anything, I would have liked to have volume one released later so that I would not be left dying in apprehension.

I honestly don’t think this is Quentin’s doing. I blame Harvey Weinstein. This is a shameless marketing decision. Think about it: the DVD for vol. 1 is to be released April 13 and only a few days later vol. 2 will be in theaters. Miramax may be ‘The House That Tarantino Built’ but someone else is living in it.

I’m just pissed off because I got to see Volume 1 right before my theater took it away forever… so I’ve only seen it once, and now have to wait four more months to see it finished…

Tarantino needs a break. He deserves it. He might have had 5 years off, but when this kind of movie is coming up, he’s losing sleep, and promoting the hell out of it. Thats called work.
I have no issue waiting a little longer. And yes, this is definately also a push from Miramax to boost sales. So what?
Its called marketing, and thats how the world works.

Kill Bill Fans are allowed to be upset by this delay. To say that we are not allowed to be mad is retarded. Its not like anyone has shot Tarantino over it, the fans are merely venting. IF Q had edited when he just got back from press tours he wouldnt have done as good a job as we all would have wanted him to do. These movies are good enough to wait for they really are.
Oh by the way Q said in a interveiw with Conan O’brian , when he was promoting the first move ( about the febuary relesase date) ” Yah thats right… if i finish editing them in time.”
