‘The Passion’ Inspired By Reservoir Dogs?
So I’m reading a review ripping The Passion of The Christ apart and I run across this little gem:
The real model for this film is Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, with its relentless depiction of torture, along with every slasher movie that cloaks its intentions in a higher message.
Combine that with Roger Ebert calling The Passion:
…the most violent film I have ever seen.
and I’d say the gauntlet has been thrown down for Kill Bill 2 to be bloodier and more violent than the first volume.

The violence in Kill Bill and the Passion are two totally different things. The former is intentional over the top violence embodied with a big dose of black comedy ; the latter is graphic realistic violence. In this context, I think the violence in Passion gets much more under your skin. That’s what Ebert probably meant when he wrote that statement.

I’m not sure that The Passion and Reservoir Dogs are comparable.Ihaven’t seen The Passion but between Jesus ‘s passion and Mr Orange’s death ,there’s no way about it !
So , contemplate this !

I liked the Passion. It was powerful, violent, had lot`s of subtitles for the heaing empaired, and had a pretty damn scary Satan.

Besides, you have to imagine the times. They were violent times. I`de like to see Gladiator if Quentin had done it. Would hae been better, methinks.

And Quentin would probably would have replaced half the action with anecdotal conversation.

There is no comparison between Tarantino’s film and The Passion. First of all, The Passion is a horrible movie. The only thing that makes that movie is the Christian view and approach. What about somebody that isnt a Christian? A lot of people think that movie is good because they feel for Jesus Christ and have strong emotions for him. If the movie was The Passion of “Bob” I dont think anyone would have liked the movie. Well people who would want to sit through 2 hours of somebody getting tortured would. That is not my kind of film though. A movie should be good because it itself is good. Not because a great philosopher of the past makes the movie good. Withought the name of Jesus that movie is nothing. Some people would say that some of the scenes are incredible, but to me watching somebody get tortured throught the whole movie was not something that I enjoyed watching. I thought it was one of the shittiest films.

Obviously, “supa” is a very narrow-minded person. And there wasn`t just 2 hours of torture. People would say that Kill Bill was 2 hours of limbs getting cut off. Supa, you obviously can`t see things for what they, from what ever perpsective you have. The Passion is the kind of movie that only comes around about every 5 to 10 years. It`s a classic, and you should respect it for what it is.

I can’t stand people that try their hardest to find ways to discredit The Passion. It’s fairly obvious people dislike The Passion because of childish political and religious biases.
