More Blame Heaped On Kill Bill
Misery loves company. Patrick Stewart – of Star Trek & X-Men fame reveals that he was traumatized as a boy by watching his father beat up his mother. But instead of laying the blame for that on his dad where it belongs – Stewart heaps some of the blame on Hollywood by claiming
” …the film industry is partly to blame for the global culture of violence against women”
Sounds a bit like he’s blaming himself to me. Then he goes all Stephen King on us and throws a bag of shit at QT:

While I am sympathic to Patrick’s cause, he is not correct about “Kill Bill.” The bride is out for revenge for whomever tried to do her in, woman or man. And boy is she pissed off. A point can be made that revenge only begets revenge in this film, but perpetuating violence against women is not a message in this film, neither explicit nor implicit.

Give me a break. I’m one of QT’s biggest fans alive, and I wouldn’t even hurt a fly. It’s not QT’s fault that Stewart’s father was such an asshole. Domestic violence has been around for thousands of years.

fuck stewart man, i am all about masculine violence toward females

So is he saying that violence is ok just as long as women are involved? does he want men to just beat the hell out of eachother just as long as they keep the women out of it?

Better for a bitch in a kung-fu suit to take on the Yakuza and a couple of bad apples, rather than a “captain” waging intergalactic wars around the universe. Give me a break, fuck Jean Luc Bacardi.

The only reason why he is complaining is because he doen’t want to see hot women fighting. He rather spend his time watching sweaty middle-aged men duke it out while losing as much apparel as possible in the process. Why wont he do everyone a favor and just die. QT is the man.

Jean should get back in wheel chair and let QT push him to the top of a hill and see if he can break the land speed record!

I wonder if he saw X2. Talk about violence against women.

The bastard is just pissed that he didn’t think about writing and directing a god damn masterpiece like Tarantino did. It’s a fucking movie stuwart and a fucking good one at that, my favorite. Thanks Tarantino for giving me something to live for.

so sick of people blaming the film industry–and music while we’re at it– for psychos beating the crap out of women. or for killing their whole school. kill bill is all about the girls and it sounds like patrick stewart has a passive aggressive alpha-male thing goin on–if it was all men in the film he wouldn’t say a fucking thing

He was just picking some random violent movie out. I bet if Stewart had actually watched it, his opinion’d be totally different.

Maybe he should just relax a bit, and stop blaming the industry, if we’re powerful enough then nothing, nothing in this world would affect us, wheater its music, movies, games, etc. Blame yourself for your mistakes, not Tarantino and Eminem or whatever the hell. pfft, sickens me.

I took it personally. Why violence can’t exist in movies. Blade wasn’t violent, hah? Well, excuse me, no one can shoot killing people as esthetically beautifully as our old Quentin. It’s art, man, it is art…

Maybe he was mad because QT quoted Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan at the beginning of Kill Bill Vol 1. Anyway, violent movies are part of cinema, they always have been and always will be. Dont use violent movies as a scapegoat for the worlds problems. If youre a violent person, youre gonna be violent towards others regardless of which violent movies you watch.

Yeah, somethings rotten in Denmark when actors like Stewart start pointing the finger at movies. He must be going thru some kind of crisis in his personal life.
