I was thrilled to see David Carradine and Uma Thurman nominated this morning for thier work in Kill Bill Vol. 2. I know this is going to sound biased because I am such a huge Tarantino fan, but I do believe that Carradine and Thurman should win in thier categories. This is the best work Carradine has ever done and I know that if Kill Bill wasn’t split in two, that Uma would of hands down won best actess ( at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes ). This is just another example of how when you have a great director, the actors or actresses strive even more to give thier best and beyond! Congradulations!

I wasn’t too surprised when Uma lost last year to Charlize, but she totally deserves it this year. Vol. 2 was far more demanding, and boy did she deliver.

Carradine better win. He deserves it.

In looking very closely at the best actress race, I am pretty sure that Hilary Swank, Nicole Kidman, and Scarlet Johansson will not win. Uma’s only real threat comes from Vera Drake’s Imelda Staunton, who has gotten a lot of good hype. I still hope and pray Uma will come up with the win though!!!

Hmmm… I DO want them to win,
but I really don’t think that it will happen. Butch is defidently underestimating Swank and Kidman (although Birth was beyond disaterous, her acting was simply fantastic with facial expressions on par with some of the best stage actresses). I do however agree with your assesment of Supporting Actor, but watch out for a double win by Mr. Foxx… voters will sometimes forget the shortcomings of one role if the other one was as good as his was in Ray…
