Jason Out, Bastards Back In
In addition to saying he would retire in 2020, QT also kind of sort of laid out his future film plans at the Empire Film Awards:
“What’s happening with Friday The 13th? Nothing at all! It’s a complete lie. I like Jason and everything, but I’ve no intention of directing a movie! New Line talked to me about it, but it was a complete fabrication, that article. I would love to do a horror film. I’m just saying it’s not going to be Friday The 13th…”
That seems concrete enough, so I guess we can scratch this idea as rumor. As for what he is going to do next, well thats left a bit open:
“My next film is probably going to be Inglorious Bastards, yeah. I’ve written scenes. I’ve written a lot of it but now I have to sit down and start putting it together in a script that I can start shooting. And that’s a different thing.”
Thats my emphasis on the ‘probably’ in QT’s statement. I’d love to see Inglorious Bastards next – and sometime soon please, but until there is confirmation that the filming has actually begun … well, lets just say that Tarantino has enough different ideas in his head that he could end up going in alot of different directions.

I for one am relieved. It would have sucked if Inglorious Bastards had been pushed back for another Jason movie. For any who were looking forward to him doing a Jason movie…Just think…could even the genious that is Tarantino have made Jason X watchable?
