For real though, I just saw Land of the Dead and really liked it. It was a bit short, but whatever. To compare it to his other films, it beat the crap out of Night of the Living Dead ( I know I am gonna take a lot of heat for this ) and also Day of the Dead, which was his worst. In some ways it was better and in other ways it was worse than Dawn of the Dead, so I will just leave it at those two being the best in the series. My favorite zombie movie of all time though is the remake of Dawn of the Dead.

What didn’t you like about the remake? It was better looking/more realistic, had better music, characters that were not all stupid ( which 1 or 2 exceptions ), had more action, better dialogue, and was much more scary!

I liked the remake but it wasnt better than the original. It is pretty cool that the zombies in the new dawn of the dead can actually run and not just be brainless zombies. But I liked the original dawn of the dead much better.

the dawn of the dead remake was okay, but the old one is THE BEST.
as far as land of the dead goes, havent seen it yet. but just like any other movie, heard a lot of mixed reviews. usually the best bet is to see it yourself.

i liked the remake okay, but i thought that the original was much better. i actually found the original scarier then the remake.

Land of The Dead rocked!! I just saw it Friday night. I gotta go with Dawn (orig) as my favorite, then Land of The Dead, then Night, then Day.
Its so cool to have one of the Godfathers of Modern Horror back in the spotlight again. Cheers George!!

i stay with dawn of the dead (orig), cuz zombies = dead, dead = not fast, not moveable, slow….the remake is just pure action than horr0r

I thought that the original dawn of the dead was about tied with the remake. The acting was better and the characters more likable in the remake but the original is still a classic.

Well, I might be the only person who liked the remake a lot better, although the original still is a classic and stands the test of time. To answer whoever wrote Comment #12, I wanted to get one, but since I am 16 and don’t have a credit card, I have to have my parents order it. Unfortunately, when my mom saw that it had the F word on it, she declined, lol.

I’m not sure how anyone can compare Romero’s Dawn with the remake seriously. Romero’s has remained fresh all these years and the remake is not likely to take it’s place. Can you imagine an “ultimate” DVD set for the remake? I think not.
Great shots from the premiere though.
I just found y’all, so I’m not sure you haven’t already talked this to death, but I thought Tarantino’s CSI show was very much like his movies, right down to including the off-topic banter about QT obcessions.
Also, I thought his comments in the “Z-Channel” documentary were interesting. Anyone see that on IFC recently? Terrific doc in its own right.

Butchtheboxer16, you might want to seriously reconsider a few of the comments you’ve made. To think that Land of the Dead “beat the crap” out of Night of the Living Dead is simply ludicrous. Romero has lost all of his flair for directing horror, and has fallen into the slump I used to always be able to turn to him to avoid. Night, Dawn and even Day are 3 of my favorite movies of all time, but Land of the Dead was a joke.

His first 3 zombies movies, although mostly good and original ( except Day, which is not good or original ) are overrated. Land of the Dead and the new Dawn of the Dead are better than Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead. Night and Day were not scary, cheesy, had characters who were either stupid as hell ( Night ) or that you hated ( Day ). They also had less action, suspense, and Day definetely had less substance. The whole zombie who was learning to listen to music and use a gun,and killed the bad guy at the end, that was the stupidest idea in all of his movies.

I was at the premier that night standing to the right of the person who took these pictures. I took some pretty good pictures that night as well. It was an awesome premier. I liked the movie a lot. Seeing Quentin, Robert, and George in person was definately the coolest experience I’ve ever had.

Day of the Dead may not be the best but it’s still damn good. It’s not like the other ones though. It was the goriest. TOM SAVINI is a fucking genious!
