Daryl Hannah Quits
Kill Bill career revival be damned? After resurrecting the career of both David Carradine and Daryl Hannah with the film, they haven’t exactly set the world on fire with new roles. And now, Hannah is quit acting to save the planet.
“I won’t be doing anything for a while because I’m focused on environmental issues. I live in a solar-powered house built with eco-friendly materials and things salvaged from a 19th century barn.
“I also drive a 100% bio-diesel car. I try to follow this ideal through all aspects of my life.”

Well, she did play a fish alongside Tom Hanks.

Honestly, I could care less. It’s her call, good for her for letting such a good thing go.
I do care about one thing though, and that’s the possibility of a Kill Bill Vol 3. The concept of a blind swordsman is a real archetype in samurai flicks, just look at Zatoichi. If QT makes it, I’d certainly want Daryl Hannah in it.

oh well can’t say i’m surprised, she’s never seemed totally into making movies. she doesn’t do them often enough.

Oh well, she ended on a good note.
I was thinking the other night…..Wasn’t there supposed to be a Kill Bill novel? Where’d that go?

The Kill Bill cinematic novel was cancelled back in early 2003.

Good for Daryl. I like her work, but I dont think she’ll be getting any more great roles anyway. If Kill Bill was her swan song, thats a kickass way to end the career.

I thought both her and Vivica Fox were weak

i loved everything aboutkill bill vol. one.the music, acting fight sequences well everything was brilliant. But honestly i was alittle dissapointed with kill bill vol. 2 for the simple fact that the fight scenes were not as intense as kill bill vol.1. i would have liked to see a better showdown between uma and michael since he had the sword after all. then after she killed him that’s when it should have been daryl’s turn. but hey that’s just my opinion. besides that vol.2 still rocked and i bought both movies to prove it.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Blood will always crawl where it can’t. It’s good that shes so involved with saving the planet, after all our world is a lease. We rent it from our children.
But do you guys seriously think that if she gets invited by Quentin or another great director that she’ll refuse it? Doubtful! Specially since she can invest the money she makes in making the planet just a little bit better.
She was great in Kill Bill btw, just awesome. She still looks great too.

Ellie Driver, blind Samurai?
Zatoichi is but one of a surprising number of blind heroes with superhuman fighting skills that have emerged throughout history, and while predated by such characters as the pulp fiction and comic book heroes The Black Bat and Doctor Mid-Nite respectively, is followed by the likes of Daredevil. The 1970s television series Kung Fu features a blind Shaolin priest also possessing amazing martial arts skills. More recently is Nick Parker from Blind Fury.
