would have been nice if it was included in the grindhouse hardback book that came out not too long ago, planet terror’s script was included in that book.

It’s in competition and that’s great! It made my day, but be warned: it’s extremely hard to win a second Palm D’Or. I’m not sure if it’s ever happened.

Who cares about winning? Being selected is truly an honor (that’s no cliche). Viewing the selected films at Cannes is really not about a horse race. It’s about quality world cinema (recently the screening of blockbusters -not on any of the prize awards jury lists- is really a concession to not ignore popular mass movies.)
Francis Coppola received the Palm D’or twice: for “The Conversation”, and “Apocalypse Now” (shared with another film I don’t recall).
Coppola and Tarantino each were President of the Jury, Feature Films.

I think the screenplay was better than the movie almost. So yes, i think it is worth it
