Kill Bill Boxed Set +
The Death Proof DVD is listed with a Sept 18th, 2007 release date on Amazon right now. No pre-order option yet though. This is going to be a 2-disc set containing both the 90 minute Grindhouse cut and the 127 minute Cannes cut.
This is apparently when the Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair 4-disc set is also going to be released.
Thanks to Mike for the heads up on the info.
UPDATE: Amazon now has Kill Bill – The Whole Bloody Affair listed, but with no release date.

Great to see both an extended Kill Bill and Death Proof release date, it’s just a shame that it’s not in a “Grindhouse” DVD.

I’m sure that at some stage there will be a DVD release that has the full Grindhouse film.

Man i am kinda pissed that rodriguez and quentin split up the grindhouse flick, i love it as a whole, and i really want to own the fake trailers, so they better have them on the indivivual dvd’s. And I can’t WAIT for Kill Bill the entire saga on DVD that will be awesome.

Would this Kill Bill release be fully colour version?

i dont mind the fact that they split up the movies, the whole grindhouse experience is made for the movie theatre, unless your rich, you don’t have a theatre at home, so for me to just buy Death Proof alone uncut makes me happier

it will have what the japanese imports have

I HOPE HE DOES A COMMENTARY TRACK, LAZY ASS.

I had been holding off on buying the Kill Bill DVDs, waiting for a special edition to be released. But I finally gave in just the other day. Awesome.

I haven’t seen the Japanese version so I can’t say it is not better. But I actually like how the fades out during the crazy 88 fight scene. For me it made the wedding massacre scene even more ominous because he fades the color there, too.

I dont really like the B&W house of blue leaves section. Ive always preferred the color version. I do like the B&W in Chapter 6, although I dont know if it really added that much to it. I wouldnt mind seeing that in color.

The wedding massacre scene, I believe, was always supposed to be in black and white. I’ve seen the Japanese version, and it was in bw

The Massacre chapter was in black and white but it was also in color because QT shot it the same way as the HOBL. At the end of Volume 1 you see The Bride on the porch in color talking to Bill.

The black and white scenes are better than the color, i like the colors (black , white, blue) efects in the movie. don’t change it to color please.

I hope nothing in kill bill gets changed! It would be nice to have him final do some commentary for it, though.
As for death proof? Can’t wait to see the uncut version of it! Mabey even more commentary! I will miss the “missing reel” thing, though. That was a great idea!
I could tell eil roth used that same “missing reel” trick in hostle 2…Mabey more films will start doing stuff like that!

Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair will have the colored HOBL battle, not the B&W one. Cuz thats the original cut of the film. The Chapter 6 B&W will stay the same.

Why does TCM say september and Amazon say November?

The missing reel in death proof was a kick in the balls, pissed me off knowing was i was missing, the lapdance. and why would Eli Roth or any other director just randomly make a missing reel in their films?
It was supposed to piss people off. QT likes messing with his audience.

In what spot in Hostel: Part Two was there a “missing reel” type of thing?…I saw it, and I don’t remember anything like that.

Will the bloody affair set go straight from chapter to chapter or run like from vol 1 to vol 2?

About BLOODY time , QT.

Does anyone know if the scene at the end of vol.1 where Bill says something like “do she know her daughter is still alive” is included or cut? I read somewhere that in the version he debuted at Cannes, it was cut. I always thought that was one of the weakest scenes in the whole movie, so I hope it gets moved to the deleted scenes.

What’s wrong with that scene? i think it’s good that u know her daughters still alive, it gives alot of people hope, that in the second one she’ll finally be happy, but i understand how cool it would be that when it came to “BANG BANG MOMMY!” you’d feel like HOLY SHIT!! WTF! but other then that, what makes the scene weak?
I’m with Matt here. I didn’t find that scene weak at all. It may not be necessary now that the two movies are in one, but leaving it in would be fine too. I thought it was a cool scene how the two different characters (Bill and the Bride) were talking at about the same time.
