Shorter Basterds?
Nasty rumor that the Weinstein Co. is trying to trim 40 minutes from the Cannes version of Inglourious Basterds before it gets released in the US.

this smells bad…..If you think about it for a minute, a long WWII movie mostly in subtitles with no one real central character and an ending that openly mocks historical fact, you can easily imagine disaster looming for this thing….

You could easily compare that to Pulp Fiction with all the randomness and no real central characters with a kinda open end. Also the movie’s timeline has disaster written all over it… Guess again. It was a masterpiece. This will be another one. Only thing is people expect another Pulp Fiction when they should be expecting a war movie like no other.
