Basterds Is #1
Ingllouious Basterds is going to be the #1 movie this weekend with about $35m in sales.
That also makes it Tarantino’s biggest opening weekend ever.

I liked the way he went with it. It wasn’t just mindless killing to please a bunch of kids with ADD. It had a story and an original plot that was genius. Fucking awesome idea.

SO HAPPY and thankful that Tarantino finally stressed the difference of counting between German and American people! In fact, what is valid in Germany is valid also for most of Europe (France, Italy, Spain, for instance). We count three using thumb and two fingers, not three fingers as here in the USA. I never knew about this difference, until I moved to the US… I was pretty amazed and still now, after having lived here for almost 10 years, I count in the European way!!!

“A character at the beginning and end, not seen in between, brings the story full circle.”
I saw IB today and was wondering what character Ebert was talking about?

I can only imagine that he’s talking about Hans Landa, though he checks in when asking Shosanna about her cinema. Seems like a lazy analysis to me.

as far as i’m concerned another masterpiece by tarantino. i loved his use of irony to portray justice. to those of you who were put off by the “violence” shown; get off your pink cloud. the world is a violent and butal place. just because you don’t like looking at it doesn’t mean it hasn’t or cannot happen. tarantino uses the graphic scenes in his movie to make a point and show us the hate and intolerance of the time and what it led to. quentin, you have my vote.

I thought this film was absolutely fantabulous!!!!
But then again I love QT, I’m a Jew and I hate Nazi’s, so I do take pleasure in the sadistic human nature that hovers over this film. Who doesn’t want to kill Nazi’s and Hitler in a extremely violent and morbid way!?? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!

two things i like about QT is..
1-his stories are neat..the dialogues, the scene…the use comical plots..
2-emotions are always intense in his films…
some good things about IB;
1-brad pitt..you just have to love this guy…
2-the dialogues…are clean, brief, witty, and usually accompanied with murderous intent…
3- the concept of a group of murdering bastards, hunting and killing another group of murdering bastards… fight fire with fire, as some would say…
