Kill Bill DVD Release Date
Also, here's an email I received [thanks Peter] regarding the bootleg DVDs of Kill Bill appearing in the far east.
Just a quick note that KB1 pirate DVDs in various packages have appeared in China. The one I saw was apparently shot from the projection booth using a digital video cam. Cost RMB 10 (about US$1.25). Quality acceptable, espec. since there was no audible audience reaction except some nervous giggling during Uma's under-the-credits panting at the beginning and a chuckle during the Sonny Chiba get the tea scene.UPDATE: Those of you in the UK and Europe can pre-order the Kill Bill DVD right now from Amazon.co.uk.
UPDATE #2: Amazon has opened up pre-orders for the Kill Bill DVD here in the US also.

The movie was amazing. As a college student I had to bum a ride to go see it, and the only ride I could get was a girl whose favorite movie is Two Men and a Baby. Anyway, she hated it, but I loved it, and I can't wait until it's out.

I watched Kill Bill twice in the theatres. It is a fnatastic movie with a brilliant director and I loved the colors. It is one of two movies that I place above all others (Amelie is next to it, although in a different category). The acting was fabulous as well. Can't wait for Vol. 2...and to buy the soundtrack, posters, dvd's, etc.

Will Vol. 1&2 ever be available on ONE dvd for those of us who prefer NOT to enjoy refreshments at the concession stand?
That would make KB experience as close to perfect as humanly posible.
Of course that is predicated on the assumption that Vol two is at least as good as vol one... heh.
Kudos to Quentin for producing such a gem of a film. (yet again)
Being a 60s&70s film fanatic and a martial artist just about QT's age allows me to appreciate it just that much more.

Anticipation! I thought the film was great and eagerly await this release. Although there were a few things that bugged me (one being that Uma kept saying Okanawa, instead of Okinawa), it still managed to keep my constant interest. And even if this dvd doesn't come with good extras or commentary it will still be a great buy.

Finally, I have seen a film in theaters which does more than just envoke Sergio Leone but towers nearly as high as his epics--and that's just the first part. There are long shots on a character's face rather than Bruckheimer-quick cuts of a plane running into an alien. I left the theater with a huge smile on my face, knowing that I had seen one of the best movies in the past decade. Besides, where else can you hear the music of Herrmann and Morricone in the same film? I truly cannot wait for the DVD.

I first saw Kill Bill in Seattle and saw it again when it was playing on the on base movie theatre last saturday. Cant wait to get it on dvd and for the release of vol 2. Does anyone know what else Sophie got hacked off? Was it her other arm? Julie Dreyfus is absolutely gorgeous and Id still do her even if she had no arms. They need to make more Terantino action figures like they did for reservoir dogs. a 12 inch Uma in her bruce lee jumpsuit with a samurai sword would be awesome. Maybe sell a double set of Uma facing off against Lucy Liu in a snowy garden background setting or something. I'm wondering if they will make replica of the sword she used in the movie. If they do, I hope they make it in tempered steel and not crappy 440 stainless. Folded steel would probably cost too much obviously. I know the other movie replica swords sell well, but the majority of them are crappy in quality and for display use only.

I'm CGI'd out. Gimme some great camera work and a blastin' soundtrack and yeah, I'll drop $10 to see it.
Although a few bootlegs seemed to have cropped up for the DVD, I've avoided them. I'll pay retail for a QT film (still haven't replaced my VHS copy of PULP FICTION with the DVD though).
I don't think that Tarentino made a dime off of my purchase of RESERVOIR DOGS on DVD, but out of respect to the guy, yeah, I'll pay retail...

Does Q.T. check this site? Is that really him above? I found this site accidentally looking for when Kill Bill would be out on DVD. A post above that said it was by Tarantino got my attention. Well, if Q.T. does check this site, I would like him to know several things. First, I really enjoyed Kill Bill, it was not too violent, and the MPAA can be a burden, to put it nicely. I wish Kill Bill had some other hand-to-hand combat (without mostly swords, with exception to the killer opening) and I wish the sword fight with Lucy Liu at the end were more competitive, like more fighting. It paused so much for dialogue, thus taking away from its strategic choreography (fighting) and being a pretty short fight, competition is always good, especially in the end, even though the end is pt: 2, respectfully speaking. Other than that however, QT seems to have had lots of fun on the set, probably improvising shots and ideas like crazy. The movie seems to have tons of little cool things added, very creative and cool, especially the lighting, colors, and choice of environments. My friend saw him working on a script in LA, it may have been Kill Bill or his next film, this was some time ago in 2003. On a different note, I would like to work with Tarantino in the future. My major is directing, writing, and music. I went to the NY film Academy back in 98 and my image and acting speaks for itself. I absolutely love non-commercial, (meaning original, not clique or for the purpose money only) films. (Films made with heart, a love for creating movies, not being general and generic to just make money) I really enjoy and look forward to making powerful, intense, original films. Several favorites of what I consider non-commercial are Strange Days, Fight Club, The Matrix, Natural Born Killers, Goodfellas, Brave Heart, True Romance, Boondock Saints, and Pulp Fiction was very good although I enjoyed Kill Bill more for its eye-candy and style. (Other QT films are individual, hence non-commercial, although everything is "commercial" in the sense of being publicly shown and distributed; I just wanted to clarify the usage of the word. I believe Q.T. would find some of my work and ideas very impressive, innovative, original, and very powerful. I am certain my work is impressive and over-the-top. I have created several complete outlines I wish to turn into screenplays and maybe stories. I will not go into detail over the Internet. This idea's are absolutely awesome and will raise the bar from what has been done before in genres such as drama, action, sci-fi, thriller, and even horror. I would like to sit down with Q.T. in a year or two, go to a resturant and have a conversation. He is an artist like myself, of course an extremely popular one, but I am an optimist who believes anything is possible. I believe he loves creating, writing, and directing movies more than anything in the world. Not to sound kiss-ass though, I did not like Jackie Brown, it was so slow and bored me to death, but that is just my feelings, and I am glad to see Q.T. back 6 years later with a two-half sega bound to be loved and hated by millions of people for eternity. Q.T., like Scorsese's earlier work, is individual. I believe they become the movie they create. I can see this by their attention to detail, originality, and their film characters. It's nice to know that Tarantino hasn't lost his edge after all these years of silence. I am looking forward to his future works, and if this man can get in touch with my e-mail address I filled in when asked to post, I would be honored to communicate with him pending on his convenience.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Jon Cocco: Age 23, film student from NY, NJ. Creator of first dark comedy album ever created, which MP3 removed due to controversial elements titled, "Freedom of Speech, F. the People." I love movies and music because they are art where one can show reflection of self.

Kill Bill is one of the best films in history. It's entire subplot of "vengeance is a dish best served cold" is ingenious. The opening sequence (which was not too long) where The Bride is bleeding to death on the floor and Bill shoots her before she can tell him the baby is his set the perfect premise to the movie. There was nothing fancy with CGI and only one simple camera angle in black and white! Classic tarantino. I want Uma Thurman (The Bride) to whup Bill's ass.
