Eddie Murphy Confirms Rumors

Eddie Murphy has confirmed that QT talked to him about Inglorious Bastards, but says there is no deal currently in place.

He also mentioned that Tarantino talked to him about possibly writing another Beverly Hills Cop movie for him. That was something I'd never heard mentioned before.

I dont Quentin to do a Beverly Hills Cop movie. That would be too fucking weird

Thats really cool to know QT actually spoke to Eddie about it. Hopefully everything will work out and he'll be in the film.

QT Writing A Bev Hills Cop movie: I loved Bev Hills Cop 1 the most, but I dont know why Eddie would want to go back to that franchise. Although if QT penned a script, it would be awesome. Get Tony Scott to direct and you got one helluva film.

[7] On Jun-07-2005, misterpink867 wrote:

i remember that buddhatang prick from the forum. he got on my freaking nerves. everybody just ignore him.

and it's a good sign that QT actually has talked with murphy. it shows at least a little bit of progress.

Buddhatang's just a flamer. Just here to bust our balls and laugh his ass off when we get pissed at him. Just ignore the bitch

Anyway, now onto something that matters, I've seen Beverly Hills Cop and the second one. I think Tarantino can easily make a Beverly Hills Cop movie, it seemed pretty close to his style to begin with, he just has to get rid of that annoying techno music, and add that badass that he does with his movies

[9] On Jun-07-2005, misterpink867 wrote:

i agree. but i wish that QT would come out and say, "hey everybody. this (possible film project here) is what i'm working on. we are moving foward with this. we will release it soon etc. etc."

at least that way we have some kind of idea as to what he's doing, as opposed to having to guess all the time at what his project will be. he needs to stop dicking around and get busy making movies. i know that that's harsh, but come on...

[10] On Jun-07-2005, Pete wrote:

Yeah that whole GRINDHOUSE thing came right outta nowhere. I never thought I'd hear something like that since he just did his big Grindhouse cinema film with Kill Bill.

Anyway, its great that we know he will be directing a film soon and its gonna be a freakin Tarantino HORROR film! That is so awesome!

[11] On Jun-07-2005, QT Fan wrote:

Yeah I agree with misterpink867. He should just come out and say this is what I am going to do. Instead of him saying oh I may do this Vega Brothers movie or I am working on Grindhouse. Just come out and say what motherfucking movie you are doing.

I think another Beverly Hills Cop would be a waste of QT's time.
I feel the Vega Bros. maybe as well.
I'm waiting for Inglorious Bastards.
I'll take what I can get though.

[14] On Jun-07-2005, QT Fan wrote:

I am just waiting for IB. I mean, whatever Quentin puts out it will be good. Even if he did make Beverly Hills Cops it would still be good. Even if I do think it would be a waste of his time also.

Bastards is what I'm hoping for after a Vega Brothers movie. But it's up to him to tell us. It seems a lot of films idea are flying around now. I hope he can pull this age of dead cinema where we have the fast and the furious classed as film.

[16] On Jun-08-2005, Pete wrote:

Vega Brothers!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!! No Vega Brothers BS. QT will never do that. Blame Michael Madsen for that ongoing rumor.

[17] On Jun-08-2005, QT Fan wrote:

I agree with Pete. I dont think that will happen.

[18] On Jun-08-2005, misterpink867 wrote:

the time for VB is long gone. any plans that QT had for that are gone. it's way too late now. it was an interesting idea though. too bad.

[19] On Jun-08-2005, ButchTheBoxer16 wrote:

Here is my take:
Vega Brothers: I have said it many times and I will say it again, it won't happen.
Inglorious Bastards: I hope this is his next film and I hope he gets Bruce Willis for it. Regarding Murphy, this should get him out of his current slump he is in.
Beverly Hills Cop: I have never seen any of these movies so I know nothing except that they are comedies. I would think it is kinda of a waste of time since he has potential to do much better stuff but if he did do it I am sure it would be one of the funniest movies ever because comedy is one of the genres he hasn't done yet.

[20] On Jun-08-2005, Ace wrote:

Vega Brothers shouldn't happen, but they should do something else with the same family. like having the grandfather in IB. As for comedies, he should do something along the lines of Shaun of the Dead, i just saw that movie and it has the perfect mixture of comedy and horror, and it's about as gory as QT would make it too

[21] On Jun-08-2005, QT Fan wrote:

Did anybody notice the thing in Shaun of the Dead where the reffer to Reservoir Dogs?
When they were in the bar after everbody had turned into, they had the mexican standoff. Then Shaun said "Dont point that gun at my mom".

[22] On Jun-08-2005, ButchTheBoxer16 wrote:

I think that was just coincidence. About Shaun of the Dead though, yeah it had some gore, but Tarantino would have had a lot more. It was nothing near Kill Bill although the one guy getting his stomach ripped open and all his insides pulled out was the goriest part. The new Dawn of the Dead ( which is better in my opinion ) is more gory and better than most zombie films ever made, plus it boasts a great soundtrack and Marsellus himself. :)

[23] On Jun-09-2005, Jamie wrote:

Nah. That was no coincidence. Si Pegg is too big a QT fan for it not to be. Dawn of The Dead was like the original with better zombies minus the political content of the original.

[24] On Jun-09-2005, misterpink867 wrote:

i'm sorry guys, but i have to disagree. i thought that the original "dawn of the dead" was much better then the remake.

[25] On Jun-09-2005, Pete wrote:

I cant wait to see Land of The Dead, that looks awesome and its great to have an old school director like George A Romero back in the spotlight again. BUT, as much as I like Romero's zombie films, I'm definitely more of a Fulci fan when it comes to horror/zombies. Although, this new film may be the best of them all, lets hope so.

If QT ever did a zombie film it would be gory as hell, thats for sure. I dont want QT to do a film like Shaun of The Dead, thats a cool film, but QT should do his own take on the zombie genre.

[26] On Jun-09-2005, QT Fan wrote:

All of the original Romero zombie films are cool. The new Dawn of The Dead was cool but not as good as any of the old Romero films. Night of the living dead is still my favorite. The land of the dead looks pretty cool but he should've called it twilight of the dead. He did Night,Dawn, then Day so he shoul've called this one Twilight of The Dead. The land of the dead is a cool title. I heard he was going to call it Dead reconing.

[27] On Jun-09-2005, Pete wrote:

Yeah it sure went through alot of titles. Anyway, looks great to me.

[28] On Jun-09-2005, misterpink867 wrote:

yeah, i thought that "land of the dead" was kind of a gay sounding title. it makes me think of that "land of the lost" show lol.

[29] On Jun-09-2005, ButchTheBoxer16 wrote:

Ya, Land of the Dead does look friggin' awesome, but calling it Twighlight of the Dead would of been better. What happens when you run out of times of day to use for titles? Tea Time of the Dead? :)

My favorite would be ARMY OF THE DEAD. I like that one a lot! Oh well, I heard Romero say that if Land of the Dead is successful ( and I so hope it is ) that he would make more zombie movies. Maybe another trilogy?

yeah, but Army of the Dead sounds too close to Army of Darkness

It might, but a lot of people are unfamiliar with the Evil Dead series, which I even like more than Romero's movies. Army of Darkness was the best of the 3 Evil Deads. Anyways, if you have to put something in front of OF THE DEAD, twighlight, army, swarm, war, or a lot of other things sound cool.

MULTITUDE OF THE DEAD
MASS OF THE DEAD
MOB OF THE DEAD
I don't know. Something like that. Anyone got any more suggestions? Post them.

For the Evil Deads I gotta go with ED 2 as well. That was the first one I saw back in 1987 and its always been my favorite.

Army Of Darkness is probably the goofiest one, its got some fun scenes like when Ash gets chased by the evil spirit into that hous e and it goes into total slapstick mode with the mini Ash's. I also lmao when Ash's evil twin pops out and they have that face off.

"Little Goodie Two Shoes! Little Goodie (SMACK) two shoes!"

Ash: "Whats that on your face?"

(Shovel Full of Dirt)

"Good, bad, I'm the one with the gun"

No offesnse to you guys, but Evil Dead 2 I think was the worst because it was just a reapeat of the first one, so it wasn't that original or inventive. I still love it, I just think the 3rd is the best, then 1st, then 2nd. The 3rd had all those quirky situations listed above, plus the skeleton army and an awesome ending. I liked it because it was also the funniest.

[44] On Jun-10-2005, Pete wrote:

I see what youre saying about AOD being the most ambitious of the three films, that is def true. BUT in terms of straight up splatstick horror ED 2 is the best. ED 1 was good, but it wasnt as good as 2 IMO.

My list would go: 1. ED 2, 2. AOD 3. ED 1.

[45] On Jun-10-2005, QT Fan wrote:

I think Evil Dead 1 is better than Army of darkness. AOD was too goofy. It wasnt serious enough. I still think ED 2 is still the best but ED 1 is close behind it.

yeah, i (once again) agree with QT Fan. i really enjoyed AOD, but i liked the first two a bit more. i liked the whole "cabin in the woods" atmosphere more then the king arthur stuff.

Well I heard that after Spider-Man 3, that Sam Raimi will produce or executive produce a remake to Evil Dead, with some new director and actor taking over, to give the series a fresh new start. I think that is a really bad idea to remake an awesome classic like that, but there is still hope because I also heard that Raimi will direct a 4th Evil Dead movie, most likely with Bruce Cambell ( whom if you don't know, had cameos in both Spider-Man films ). So that would be a dream come true! :)

imagine for a moment what QT's life is like... he's this manic, speed-talking teenager in a man's body, drives around a PussyWagon, drinks gourmet coffee at diners and scribbles notes on napkins for cinematic scenes. he probably has ideas for every kind of movie, every kind of sequal or every treatise on each cool cinema genre possible. and if one of those scraps of paper seems like a project he feels good enough about, he'll research it for a year or two, hammer out a screenplay that will undergo a dozen drafts or so, and get it into production, wich himself or someone else directing. he's not prolific, and not but one percent of all of his ideas will come to the screen 'cause he's a crazy 150 mph guy. but just think of this... imagine all those scaps of paper crammed into a drawer somewhere.

QT also owns a huge film print collection, so when he watches those films in his screening room, he must have so many ideas about how he can make those cool films even better. The toughest thing must be condensing all that coolness into one film. I'm sure right now hes watching alot of Grindhouse genre films and getting into that Exploitation Horror film mode. Probably a daily diet of films by Fulci, Argento, Bava, Lenzi, Deodato, Martino, Margheriti, Carpenter, DePalma, Miike and every other horror master in cinema.

LAND OF THE DEAD SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
but still read it!!!!!!

Okay guys, this is going back to an old one, however, the reson why Land of the Dead was called Land of the Dead was that it was comment on all the problems third world countries are going through right now with wars, and terrorism.

It is about Iraq, Afghanistan, and Isreal. The opening shot takes place in a gas station (the war being about oil). The first act of terrorism against the island, where everything is perfect, leads to a bigger act of terorism against the land of the dead (The U.S. attacking Iraq and afghanistan for the sept 11 attacks). A large tower on an island gets bomed (sept 11 attacks). A dumb old grey haired man runs the free world (George dubiya Bush). The line "sir you forgot to sign this check. You owe this group money. "oh really..... hey look a zombie". Than he shoots the guy in the head (bush using terrorsits as a threat to get away from his duties as a leader).

All the dead people in the middle east has made it seem as if it is a land of the dead.

Everyone drives around in tanks shooting at those who are different. Life in Isreal between the palistinians and the Isrealy jews.

There is a scene where the one guy is telling the girl "nothing bad happened to me till the day everything changed' The woman tells him how everyone has been feeling that way lately (how new yorkers feel about september, 11 2001).

There are so many other refernces that help to show why Land of the dead should have been called LAND OF THE DEAD. Especially the last line of the movie.

Sorry for ruining the film. Rent it anyways. It is awsome. One of the best movies of 2005. Fucking scary as hell. As I am sure grinde house will be.

NOW NO MORE TALK ABOUT LAND OF THE DEAD!!!!!!!
