Sin City Extended DVD Announced

Well, it didn't take long for the extended version of the Sin City DVD to be announced - it'll be available just before Christmas. Here's some of the details [via DVD Answers]:
  • The 124-minute theatrical release
  • The 147-minute extended cut
  • A commentary with director Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller, and with Rodriguez & Tarantino
  • A 15-minute film school with Rodriguez
  • 17 uninterrupted minutes of Tarantino's segment
  • Footage of a Sin City cast/crew party
  • 4 featurettes on the cars, special effects make-up, costumes and props, a featurette on how they convinced Miller to assist with the film, a featurette on casting, a featurette on Tarantino the guest director (sigh)
  • Trailers, bloopers, interactive game
  • Packaged with a graphic novel, "The Hard Goodbye"
  • I also noticed that Sin City is available for the PSP

A commentary with rodriguez and tarantino? I hardly think that is necessary, considering tarantino directed like...5 minutes of the movie. They keep emphasizing the fact that tarantino was a guest director. What people don't realize is, he didn't direct much. These marketing schemes are really pathetic these days.

I am with QT Fan on this one. I am proud to say I saved my money for this DVD, instead of blowing it early on the bare bones edition. Also a quick note regarding what PULPFICTION said, his little rant looks strangely familiar with JoBlo's last C'Mon Hollywood article. Hmm.

I don't follow any joblo stuff so any similarity has to be coincidental. It's all my opinion, I guess it just so happens that many people feel the same way. I'm not surprised.

Hopefully Kill Bill 1+2 will be released around the same time as Sin City. I knew waiting would pay-off.

I doubt Kill Bill 1 and 2 will come out together. I couldnt wait that long so I bought them when they first came out.

All I have to say is: THIS WILL BE FUCKIN SWEET! No reason to go out and buy the no goodies DVD when you can wait a bit and get a jam packed SE DVD.

I stand corrected PULPFICTION. Anyways, the only reason I bought the Kill Bill films was because I knew they wouldn't come out together for a long time, maybe even years. But Tarantino is going to release Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair with both films. When is anyones guess. I just held off for Sin City because I can wait a few extra months.

One of my favorite commentaries is teh Dusk til Dawn one, I don't care how much Tarantino did, I think him and Rodriguez have great banter, and I can't wait to hear it.
