Mickey Rourke No-Shows Death Proof
Thanks to Danny for giving me the heads up on this. I've been traveling alot so I'm not as on top of breaking news as usual.
UPDATE: The Grind House forum folks say they never specifically said Rourke no-showed. Looking at the thread again, some other commenter mentioned the no-show but was not corrected. I just read it wrong.

Anyways, QT won't have any trouble casting it I'm sure. I just hope this thing gets moving soon! I thought he was supposed to start shooting it last month. Now its almost August...

It's not that big a deal, Vincent wasn't written for Travolta, but he pulled it off perfectly. I'm sure Tarantino will find someone else perfect for this part too (wait, what if he used Travolta again? that'd be suprising)

I's a shame...But if QT casts Michael Madsen as the lead character I would be in heaven

We never reported that Mickey never showed up for filming, so please edit that news report.
We were told simply that the role was being recast

I heard QT just signed on Kurt Russell to take the role as "STUNT MAN MIKE" Rourke blew his chance for a career rebirth, as he appeared to be doing pretty damn well. Russell is a tight fit, should be sweet.

Mickey Rourke is a genius. Does he have the same agent as Burt Reynolds?
