QT Talks Halloween, Evil Dead, Jason
Fangoria has a short interview with Quentin up (with a great photo of QT in character from Planet Terror).
Surprisingly though, the topic isn't GRINDHOUSE, but rather Evil Dead, Halloween and Friday the 13th. He was approached to at least discuss doing an Evil Dead remake (he's not), and you probably remember the Friday the 13th rumors from 2005.
But I had never heard that he nearly had a hand in making Halloween 6.
"That was weird," Tarantino recalls. "It was one of those things where Scottie was bringing me along and I was the one who put two and two together and come up with at least the first couple of scenes."The filmmaker recognized that it would be up to him to pick up from the end of HALLOWEEN 5, where Michael Myers is freed from jail by the now-infamous man in black. "I thought hands-f**kin'-down the best part of HALLOWEEN II was the first 15 minutes, when Michael is trying to get out of suburbia. It was very BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN: The monster is now stuck in the village and the scenes are of everyone he bumps into until he gets the f**k out. Well, that's what Michael does in part two. He's going through the backyards and going in through houses and someone's kitchen and killing everyone along the way. That shit was magnificent; then when it got to the hospital, it totally fell apart.
