Quentin Tarantino Graphic Movie Poster Series
Ibraheem Youssef has created some very cool looking minimalist posters for Tarantino's films.
Very cool stuff, and unlike most of the alternative poster designs I've ever seen, you can actually purchase these from Ibraheem's website.

GRINDHOUSE 6-Disc DVD Set
Even though GRINDHOUSE was eventually broken into 2 separate films, there is going to be a 6-disc DVD release of the whole double feature with special features ... in Japan. [thanks Taylor]
Still no fake trailers from the description that SlashFilm has. This makes the lack of any type of combined DVD release in the US even more disappointing.

Competition For Inglorious Bastards
If Quentin is still serious about making Inglorious Bastards his next film, he may want to get moving on the project ASAP. It looks like Joel Silver and Zak Penn are going to be re-making The Dirty Dozen.
Inglorious Bastards isn't the same film, but its similar enough that it could cause box office troubles if they both get released near the same time. And given the box office problems that GRINDHOUSE had, taking that risk might not be such a hot idea.
So Quentin, get moving!

Don't Miss GRINDHOUSE Experience
If you haven't been out to see GRINDHOUSE yet, get off your ass and go. It fell out of the top 10 in the box office and only made $434 per screen this past week - likely meaning that its not going to be in theatres for much longer.

Death Proof Questionnaire
Hey folks, I'm always getting emails from film students with lots of questions about QT's filmmaking style, and I rarely have the time to respond properly. But Rebekah was smart enough to pose her questions in the form of a questionnaire that any of you can fill out after watching GRINDHOUSE this weekend.
Rebekah is pursuing her PhD in Film Studies at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and the questionnaire is short and sweet - so lets help her out.

NC-17 For GRINDHOUSE?
GRINDHOUSE may need significant edits to avoid an NC-17 rating. Page Six has the dirt on some of the more problematic scenes (one example after the jump).
QT had similar problems with Kill Bill - thats why some of the Crazy 88 scene is in black and white (so that the blood is black instead of red). For whatever reason, its OK to hack someone to pieces on screen, just so long as they don't bleed red blood.

The GRINDHOUSE Split
Inglorious Bastards got a sneak look at the European poster for GRINDHOUSE. It looks suspiciously like this poster, but with just a few 'screw you' edits.
It really sucks that QT isn't willing to stand up for movie to be shown in one piece. I've heard the argument that the double-feature is a uniquely American experience and so the rest of the world isn't expecting it - but, if the GRINDHOUSE format of a double-feature is so great, why not use his influence to introduce it to those that haven't experienced it before.
In this interview QT talks about doing what he wants with his films.
"Man, I'd love to do an opening to a movie like that." And someone said: "Yeah, they wouldn't let you."People have said little things like that all my life. But who's "they"? I've given nobody the authority over me to say I can't do anything - I can do anything I want or can achieve. I don't ask permission. I might ask forgiveness, but I won't ask permission. There is no "they".
Here's the thing: they can write a mean letter, they can write a mean memo, but these guys don't have any real fight in them. If you're an artist, as opposed to a careerist, and your movie is more important to you than a career in this town, they can never beat you. You have a loaded gun, and you know you've got what it takes to put it in their faces and blow their heads off.
Quentin, get your gun out and take a stand. GRINDHOUSE is one movie. One experience. Introduce the rest of the world to the genre you feel so passionate about. In the format you feel so passionate about - the double feature.

The Making Of GRINDHOUSE

The stuff in these videos isn't entirely new though, some of it already appeared back in early February on Yahoo.
