Another 'Tarantino' Killing In Europe
Another violent crime in Europe, another comparison to Tarantino.
"They pointed a stun gun at a waiter and demanded the cash from the till, but the staff grabbed kitchen knives and charged at the men," a customer in the busy restaurant said. "It was like a moment from Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' films.
Note: This is a continuation of a theme I noticed some time ago.

Tarantino's Mind
A video short - Tarantino's Mind. Good little film - although there shouldn't be anything new in this for the hardcore fans, but those new to QT's films will find it enlightening.

The Tarantino Murders?
Thats the headline on Drudge right now. Why is it that whenever there is a brutal murder in Europe, the media or the police always seem to drag Quentin Tarantino's name into it?
One detective compared the killings to a Quentin Tarantino film.He said: "The scale of the violence is extraordinary. This was like a scene from a Tarantino gangster film but these men were not criminals. These were two talented and innocent men who had no history of criminality."
UPDATE: The Tarantino reference has been scrubbed from this article (the quote above was in the piece originally). But not all traces of connection to QT has been removed, the URL of the article still has his name in it.

QT Not A Hero
Quentin turned down Heroes when they offered him a chance to direct an episode this season. Regardless of the reason (he says he's never seen the show), its a good move as I expect Heroes to take a big nose-dive in the ratings this year.

QT Talks Film
Its been around a couple days, but I missed it. QT wrote article for the Sunday Times titled I Call The Shots Here talking about how and why he makes movies and various other stuff.
Violence is one of the most cinematic things you can do with film. It's almost as if Edison and the Lumiere brothers invented the camera for filming violence. The most cinematic directors, they're taking cinema and exciting you. I really do think about it like that. I'm doing my own thing, but I'm thinking about the audience, too, though not in a manipulative way. I am the audience.

Bad Taste Bears Tarantino Event
Everyone's favorite Tarantino-themed band, the Tarantinotes are going to be playing at the Bad Taste Bears Tarantino Event on March 31st.
The event is to celebrate the launch of Killed Bill. There are only 4,000 of the yellow being created, and only 700 of the pictured limited edition black version. There is also going to be a great looking Tarantino sketch book available that I'd love to get my hands on.
Check out the event website for all the details.
QT Talks Halloween, Evil Dead, Jason
Fangoria has a short interview with Quentin up (with a great photo of QT in character from Planet Terror).
Surprisingly though, the topic isn't GRINDHOUSE, but rather Evil Dead, Halloween and Friday the 13th. He was approached to at least discuss doing an Evil Dead remake (he's not), and you probably remember the Friday the 13th rumors from 2005.
But I had never heard that he nearly had a hand in making Halloween 6.
"That was weird," Tarantino recalls. "It was one of those things where Scottie was bringing me along and I was the one who put two and two together and come up with at least the first couple of scenes."The filmmaker recognized that it would be up to him to pick up from the end of HALLOWEEN 5, where Michael Myers is freed from jail by the now-infamous man in black. "I thought hands-f**kin'-down the best part of HALLOWEEN II was the first 15 minutes, when Michael is trying to get out of suburbia. It was very BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN: The monster is now stuck in the village and the scenes are of everyone he bumps into until he gets the f**k out. Well, that's what Michael does in part two. He's going through the backyards and going in through houses and someone's kitchen and killing everyone along the way. That shit was magnificent; then when it got to the hospital, it totally fell apart.

Jet Li Talks Kung Fu Films, QT
Q: More western directors like Quentin Tarantino are doing Chinese martial arts films. What is the difference between a martial arts film directed by a Westerner and someone from China?
A: Quentin Tarantino is in love with Asian movies and martial arts movies. He’s a specialist, a genius, he knows a lot of things but even in movies made in the States, the director may be from the States but the choreographer or action director is still Asian. It’s just a different angle to see the same thing.

Tarantino Does NASCAR
"Yeah, Baby! That's what I'm talking about!" he yelled after several seconds of silence. "That was incredible. I didn't 100 percent know what to expect when I got here. I was very open to be intoxicated, and I most definitely was."I just hope there are no Days of Thunder sequel rumors that come from this.
"Ben Affleck, he looked like a little girl!," Tarantino said. "When I saw Ben Affleck and Dave Spade acting like little girls, I said I got this one. I'm all good. I don't have to worry about nothing.
