Django Unchained Wyoming Location Wraps Shooting

The Django Unchaoned scenes that Quentin Tarantino wanted to shoot in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming, area has finished filming. They apparently tried to get permission to film amid a herd of elk but it was denied.
Django Unchained Production Gets National Park Permit

Some further confirmation about Django Unchained filming in Wyoming later this month.
Grand Teton National Park officials say director Quentin Tarantino plans on shooting some scenes for his latest film in Jackson Hole within the next couple of weeks. Park spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs says the National Park Service issued a permit to Tarantino’s production company last week.

Some pictures of the Django Unchained set in Santa Clarita, CA on the Melody Ranch. Apparently the same place that Deadwood was filmed (cocksucker!).
This location is probably being used for the second major scene in the film that features Django (Jamie Foxx) and Dr. King Shultz (Christoph Waltz).

Django Unchained Filming In Santa Clarita CA

Before they head to Louisiana for he majority of the film, Tarantino is shooting some scenes at the Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita, California.
“Its a blast shooting here,” Tarantino said in a break from shooting. “Most other western towns look like dollhouses. This has the complete look. It’s fantastic”.
Django Unchained Filming In Wyoming

For one part of the Django Unchained script that calls for snow, Tarantino has chosen to film some scenes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Most of the filming will take place in Louisiana and is scheduled to start in February.
Django Unchained Filming Delayed

The start of filming of Django Unchained in Louisiana has been delayed until February. No reason is given in the reports so far.
Hopefully it doesn’t affect the planned late December 2012 release date.

Django Unchained Shooting Locations

Since the Christmas holiday season is traditionally a pretty slow news time for film-making, I’ll be catching up on posting about tidbits that I had marked for publication, but never quite found the time to write an entry about.
First up is the filming of Django Unchained on-location in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The majority of the film is going to be shot in and around New Orleans next year.
Given that this story takes place in Mississippi, my guess is that they are either going to shoot some slave escape scenes in the snowy mountains (if they escaped north of Mississippi – they could hit mountains), or it could be part of a flashback or a starting-point for another character.
